  Some staff are nice and helpful, but it seems that most are disinterested and have horribly low morale. My overall experience of Wickes as a regular customer who wishes he could use somewhere else more easily is that as a customer I am a major inconvenience to the staff at the store. It looks like they are broken souls and no longer interested in life.

  It amazes me that the other so-called builders merchants (including wickes sister company) are still in business in the area, my business has accounts with all the merchants in the area and can still find it cheaper off the shelf at Wickes! Don't normally bother going elsewhere now, the staff are helpful and the store is easy to navigate, hands down the cheapest place locally for exterior grade ply.
